No Hemp in WI tour, Salahuddin to look after batting

Bangladesh will not have David Hemp in the ongoing tour of West Indies, a BCB official informed The Daily Star today.
Hemp is understood to be in discussion for returning as HP head coach.  The Bermudan joined the Bangladesh national team as batting coach in May last year.
In Hemp’s absence, Mohammad Salahuddin, the newly-appointed senior assistant coach, is set to look after the batting side of things in the tour of the Caribbean.
“Hemp is not part of the series and for now the discussion is about this series only. Salahuddin sir is with the team and will be taking care of batting,” Shahriar Nafees, in-charge at BCB’s cricket operations, told The Daily Star.
Meanwhile Mohsin Sheikh is also not part of the West Indies tour. Mohsin was appointed the national team performance analyst for a two-year term, beginning in May 2024.
“He has not gone to this tour and the board is considering everything. He is still under contract,” Nafees added.
The Tigers appointed Akshay Hiremath as the performance analyst for just the tour of the West Indies.
